That night, Four takes Tris through his fear landscape. They go in and his first fear is heights. We already knew this from when they climbed the ferris wheel. They are on top of some sort of metal beam and they have to jump down in order for the simulation to move on. Personally, I'm not afraid of heights so this doesn't scare me that much.
His next fear is confinement. They are both crushed into a tiny space and so Tris tells him that they need to get as close together and as small as they can get in order to pass the obstacle.
"Feel my heartbeat?" "It's fast." "Yes, well, that has nothing to do with the box." - Tris and Four
...Awkward...
His third fear is of shooting someone. This person is a woman, but it isn't said who she is. Four has to kill her every time he goes through his fear landscape.
"Here's the part, where you figure out my name." - Four
His fourth fear is his father. Marcus Eaton, the Abnegation political leader. There were rumors of him being abusive and apparently they are true. Since Marcus is his father, and Marcus had a son named Tobias that transferred to Dauntless...Four is Tobias!!!
Marcus walks towards them with a belt in his hand and then they multiply until there is twelve of them circling around them. They raise the belts and Tris protects Tobias by stopping the belt and hitting Marcus with it. Go Tris! Then Marcus lunges at Tris, but Tobias protects her this time.
That's when the simulation ends. His nickname is four because he has four fears!! Ba Dum CHHHH!
