Chapter Thirty-Two

Tris goes to the dining hall where the banquet will be held. Here, the final ranks of who will be initiated and who will be factionless are posted.

Eric gives a speech that encompasses the Dauntless virtues, all of which he does not believe in, and then posts the rankings.

Final Rankings:

3. Lynn
4. Marlene
5. Peter
6. Will
7. Christina

Everybody that is worth knowing about is on that list. Thankfully, Molly and Drew, Peter's minions, are the ones left factionless. Ha, they had it coming.

Tobias comes to congratulate her and they kiss despite all of the people watching. I feel like this is like the scene from High School Musical when Gabriella and Troy end up together in front of the jocks, nerds, thespians, and others that used to look down on their relationship.

Then suddenly, Tris realizes something.

"One: Colored serum contains transmitters. Two: Transmitters connect the mind to a simulation program. Three: Erudite developed the serum. Four: Eric and Max are working for the Erudite." - Tris

She knows how the Erudite will get the Dauntless to fight.
